Speaking to the regional media on Monday, a senior official in the UAE government revealed that a federal law is in the pipeline allowing foreigners to own property in the United Arab Emirates.
Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the President's Private Department told Gulf News that studies are currently underway into the drafting of federal and local legislation to allow foreign ownership of UAE property for a designated period.
"You can expect the law to be passed this year," he announced.
