The October newsletter from Andorra-based tax, property and residency experts, Servissim has revealed that the long-awaited trilateral treaty between France, Spain and Andorra looks set to come into effect soon. The treaty is designed to improve rights for residents of all three countries, and is scheduled to be approved by the French parliament this Autumn.
One of the most noticeable effects of the agreement, according to Servissim will be that French and Spanish nationals will be permitted Andorran business rights after ten years' residence, rather than the usual twenty years.
However, the newsletter reported that this new provision will not apply to lawyers, doctors, and other such professionals, who will still be excluded from establishing private practices in Andorra.
