Chile's Minister of Finance, Andrés Velasco, last week dismissed the possibility of introducing significant tax reforms during President Bachelet’s office.
Commenting on the proposal submitted last Monday by former President Patricio Aylwin, Velasco explained that the plans of President Bachelet’s administration are very clear.
"We have designed a four-year plan that is fully financed. We are promoting a pension system reform the funding of which has been very clearly explained to the country. Therefore, a tax reform is not contemplated in this government’s agenda," he announced.
