Pakistan's Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected PKR898.64bn (USD11bn) during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, showing an increase of 17.7% over the corresponding period of the year prior.
According to the provisional figures, the FBR collected PKR83.53bn (USD1.036bn) during the month of April.
Compared to April 2008, net sales tax revenue increased by around PKR2.7bn (USD33m).
As a whole, direct taxes are up PKR1.9bn (USD24m), with indirect taxes rising around PKR1.8bn (USD22m) on the figure collected in 2008.
