10 March 2005

A new alliance involving nine independent firms and 658 tax advisors spread through various parts of the world has been launched by former Andersen employee Frederic Donnedieu de Vabres.

According to a report in The Lawyer, the alliance, known as Taxand, has been set up to allow tax advisors based in France, Germany, India, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA to share information on the latest international tax developments.

“This is the first initiative worldwide to forge a tax alliance which allows firms to share knowledge and tax innovations, while providing our clients with a real independent network of international tax competencies”, stated Donnedieu de Vabres, who is now with the French firm Arsene.

Donnedieu de Vabres, who quit Andersen in 2003, added that negotiations were underway with other firms so that the alliance would eventually span all five continents.
