A bookmaker in Northern Ireland, Sean Graham, has declared the immediate addition of 40 jobs, a further 40 before the World cup 2002 starts and another 20 before the end of next year thanks to the removal of the UK's 9 per cent betting tax which will be lifted from this Saturday onwards.
Currently the company has a workforce of around 250 people in Northern Ireland and plans to open a website in the near future, www.seangraham.com, for interactive betting. A spokesman for Sean Graham told the Ananova news service: 'we have the product to compete in the global multi-billion pound market and grow substantially with the level playing field created by the abolition of betting tax.'
