It was announced on Monday that several Taiwanese stock exchanges have signed agreements with the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE), in order to boost cooperation and investment between the two countries.
The Taiwan Stock Exchange Corp. (TSEC), the Taiwan Future Exchange (TAIFEX) and the GreTai Securities Market all signed Memoranda of Cooperation which aim to permit dual listings,and the creation of new investment products and indices, and to allow for further information exchange.
Commenting on the agreements, which follow the signing of similar MoCs with exchanges in Vietnam, Thailand and Abu Dhabi earlier this year, Wu Rong-I, TSEC chairman, announced that:
"The TSEC will take the opportunity to pursue market cooperation to expand its internationalization."
According to a Finextra report, WSE Management Board Member, Adam Maciejewski observed of the pacts that:
"The agreements signed with the three Taiwanese markets attest to the growing importance of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, not only in Europe but also globally. The Polish market attracts strong interest and makes it possible to introduce increasingly interesting investment products."
