Delegates at a two-day symposium on 'E-Commerce Horizons and Applications' last week in Dubai appealed to the government to pass legislation that will meet the demands of a growing e-commerce industry in the area.
Organised by the Cultural and Scientific Association, the conference focused on the development of e-commerce in a way that is consonant with Arab and national values while still promoting economic growth. Participants concluded that a strategic plan involving a database for the region was vital to providing a solid grounding for the industry, as well as promoting an awareness of e-commerce among the public and private sectors.
