Finanzfachmarkt AG, a joint venture between the Credit Suisse Group, Tamedia and Bluewin, is about to launch a financial news and services portal. The portal - www.moneycab.com - aims to provide analysis for investment in the form of economic news, business and financial information, online stock exchange prices and links to other websites from the banking and insurance sectors.
The portal will be supported by a team of around 15 to 20 finance journalists headed by Markus Gisler, former Editor-in-Chief of Cash magazine who views the website as a new type of online business publication.
The software supporting the portal is Communiqué by Day Interactive AG, a major software provider enabling Global 2000 companies to create and manage complex content, collaboration and commerce which allows for easier use of editing functions and speed-up technical implementations. In a press statement, Michel Ganouchi of Day Switzerland commented: 'Day's software is once again providing the basis of a modern and complex B2B and B2C Web platform.'
The choice of Communiqué was explained by Helmuth Fuchs, Chief Information Officer of Finanzfachmarkt AG, who said: 'The open architecture of Communiqué makes it possible to integrate third-party applications such as CRM systems and financial analysis tools. Moreover, the platform can be developed incrementally. Communiqué is outstandingly flexible and user-friendly. That's why we decided in favour of Day.'
Although an exact date has not yet been decided upon, moneycab.com is expected to start operating in spring 2001.
