Switzerland is to receive a second seat on the Financial Stability Board, formerly the Financial Stability Forum. During its meeting on April 8, the Federal Council noted that in future the two seats will be held by the Swiss National Bank (as was the case up to now) and by the Federal Department of Finance.
Since becoming a member of the Financial Stability Forum (FSF) at the start of 2007, Switzerland has been represented by Jean-Pierre Roth, President of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank. The newly awarded second seat will be filled in future by Peter Siegenthaler, Director of the Federal Finance Administration.
