China's State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) last week announced that it has signed an agreement with its Swiss counterpart on the protection of intellectual property.
During the 17th Meeting of the China-Switzerland Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade late last month, the Memorandum of Understanding of the China-Switzerland Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade concerning the Establishment of the Working Group on Intellectual Property was signed by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Public Economy Department of the Swiss Confederation.
Pursuant to the MoU, both sides will enhance dialogue and cooperation in the intellectual property area and the communication of information, and will also devote themselves to exploring methods for the settlement of related problems.
According to SIPO, during the meeting, both sides reviewed the development of China-Switzerland bilateral economic and trade links and explored new measures and new approaches for further enhancing cooperation in trade, two-way investment and technology between the two countries.
They additionally studied and pushed forward the important problems that existed in the realm of bilateral economic and trade cooperation, especially with regard to corporate cooperation.
