The Swiss Exchange has announced the launch of its new website, which aims to provide both professional and private investors with a simplified interface with which to analyse and trade equities and other financial instruments.
"With our new website, we want to appeal to the general public, and thereby make stock exchange trading and stock exchange products more transparent and, in particular, easier to understand", commented Christoph Bigger, CEO SIX Swiss Exchange.
The new website breaks down market data in to equities, bonds, and exchange-traded funds and other funds. The exchange says that product information is now presented in a simplified format to make it easier for traders to compare different financial instruments.
The new website also features tutorials to give newcomers to the exchange a basic grounding in individual financial products, as well as explain how exchange trading works.
As of October 31, 2008, there was a total of 364 equities listed on the exchange, in addition to 1,415 listed bonds, 165 listed funds and more than 26,000 structured products and warrants.
