According to figures recently released by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the country's economy showed modest growth in the second quarter of this year.
Suggesting that the economic cycle has recovered from its lowest point, SECO revealed that GDP had increased by 0.3% in Q2, explaining that:
"The expansion in the second quarter was broadly based and was supported both by domestic and foreign demand."
SECO went on to reveal that exports grew by 5.8% in the second quarter.
It stated that "further consolidation" was expected, but warned that it was not anticipating "a strong acceleration of the Swiss economy".
