Standard Bank Offshore is the latest international bank to become a primary listing member of The Channel Islands Stock Exchange.
According to Peter Hart, Managing Director, Standard Bank Fund Administration Jersey Limited, the move was in response to the growing levels of funds business that the Bank was enjoying since funds sector regulations were streamlined in Jersey 18 months ago.
“The growth in alternative investment funds business has led us to acquire more clients requiring the specialist skills of our fund administration services and, as a result, there is a increasing need to list funds on the Exchange," observed Mr Hart.
"We have been impressed with the quality of the response from the CISX during the application process and we believe our membership is an important step when attracting new business from specialist fund promoters," he added.
Meanwhile, Tamara Menteshvili, Chief Executive of the CISX, commented: “We are very pleased to welcome such a prestigious international bank to Membership of the CISX. The Market Authority looks forward to working with Standard Bank in providing a quality service to their clients, increasing business opportunities and broadening the base of international issuers who have made CISX their exchange of choice. “
The CISX commenced operations in October 1998 and has grown rapidly with over 400 securities having been approved by the Market Authority since inception, for a total market capitalisation of $17 billion.
The CISX prides itself on a personalised approach and fast track processing of listing applications within what is regarded as a highly regulated and innovative marketplace.
