The Caribbean Island of St Kitts is this week hosting the latest meeting between the heads of state of the members of CARICOM (Caribbean Community) under the heading 'Contending with Global Challenges: an Inspiration for Regional Development and Sustainability'.
Leading the delegation from the host nation will be Professor Simon Jones-Hendrickson, St Kitts and Nevis' ambassador to CARICOM, the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States and the Association of Caribbean States.
According to regional news service Caribbean Net News, the other delegates will include: Governors-General, Sir Clifford Husbands of Barbados; Sir Howard Crooke of Jamaica; Sir James Carlisle of Antigua and Barbuda; Sir Colville Young of Belize; Dame Pearlette Louisy of St. Lucia; Sir Daniel Williams of Grenada; Sir Frederick Ballantyne of St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Dame Ivy Dumont of The Bahamas; and Dr. Sir Cuthbert Sebastian of St. Kitts and Nevis and Presidents Mr. George Richards of Trinidad and Tobago and Dr. Nicholas Liverpool of Dominica.
The week-long conference is being held through to October 10.
