Indonesia's President has unveiled the opening of a new tax office which has been specifically designed to cater for the country's wealthiest individuals.
The country's Finance Minister has estimated that 1,200 individuals earn more than IDR100bn (USD8.4m) per year. The new tax office has been designed to offer a separate set of services to people earning such amounts.
According to the Minister, the tax office also aims to prevent tax evasion by the rich by monitoring more closely the way in which their wealth is managed.
It is also hoped that the new tax office will help to reduce the time it takes to process tax returns.
The tax office is due to begin operation in April.
