Numerous speakers from the fields of business, politics, academia, and civil society will come together in the Liechtenstein capital, Vaduz, next month for the third Liechtenstein Dialogue on the Future of Financial Markets, the Principality's government has announced.
"We have again succeeded in developing an interesting, high-caliber programme," stated Prime Minister Otmar Hasler.
"We are looking forward to exciting presentations, stimulating talks, and insightful discussions," he added.
Speakers at this year's event, to be held over the 5th and 6th of October, include: Otto Schily, former Federal Minister of the Interior of Germany and SPD Member of the German Bundestag; Marco Suter, Executive Vice Chairman of UBS; Jean Asselborn, Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg; and Prince Philipp von und zu Liechtenstein, Chairman of the LGT Group Foundation.
Also contributing will be Sonjoy Chatterjee, Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Bank UK; Reinhard Ortner, Member of the Board of Management and CFO of Erste Bank der oesterreichischen Sparkassen AG; Friedrich Merz, CDU/CSU Member of the German Bundestag; Thomas Muller, CFO of Swiss Life Group; Monika Ribar, CFO and CEO-designate of Panalpina Group; and Jacques de Saussure, Managing Partner of Pictet & Cie.
While the main focus of the discussions will be on global risks and investor confidence, the group will also explore the dynamics of globalisation and its effects on social, economic, and ecological development.
"The possibilities of globalisation can open up new horizons especially also for smaller players," observed Josef Fehr, President of the Liechtenstein Bankers Association.
"The objective is to confront these challenges without forgetting one's roots," he concluded.
