The Governments of the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Singapore have completed the third round of negotiations on the Kuwait-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
According to the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry, both sides have had "fruitful discussions" and made substantial progress on key issues covering trade in goods, rules of origin, trade in services, financial services, investment and government procurement chapters as well as the legal aspects of the FTA.
The sides will meet again for the next round, scheduled to take place in Kuwait in September.
Singapore is developing an extensive network of free trade agreements, and has completed FTAs with Australia, Japan, the United States, New Zealand and Europe. It has also signed a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement with the government of India.
