It emerged last week that the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on intellectual property management.
Under the terms of the agreement, signed on September 1, the two bodies will join forces to enhance the tools collectively available to them in this area, and will seek to jointly develop an IP Management Protocol to assesss the IP management readiness of companies in both Singapore and the SAR.
In a statement, the IPOS explained that:
"The objectives of the collaboration are to apply this standard to make IP management an integral part of business decision-making and help companies adopt good IP management practices."
