Japanese Finance Minister, Masajuro Shiokawa revealed this week that more detail regarding the government's forthcoming tax cuts will be provided in September.
However, according to an AFP report on Tuesday, he admitted that it is unlikely that the planned reforms will be discussed and endorsed immediately.
'I think it will be very difficult to discuss a tax incentive package in the extraordinary parliamentary session this autumn because of the amount of important legislation that must be enacted during the session,' the Finance Minister told a news conference yesterday.
However, he added that: 'Content of the tax incentive package will be known between early and mid-September after discussions among the ruling coalition parties and the government's tax panel'.
