A group of senior finance professionals from Luxembourg will next week visit Jersey to explore business opportunities with their counterparts from the Island's finance industry.
The top level group includes partners from Luxembourg law firms and senior figures from European banks, and represents a reciprocal visit to that of a Jersey Finance-led delegation to Luxembourg made in September last year.
Phil Austin, Chief Executive of Jersey Finance Limited, the promotional body for the island’s finance industry, commented: “This is a useful opportunity to learn more about Luxembourg and to discuss business opportunities across the range of private client, funds and corporate activity.”
He added: “It is also a chance to hear how they are responding to certain issues such as the EU savings directive, and to listen to their views on, for example, banking secrecy and the Anglo-Saxon concept of a trust, an investment vehicle which has recently been recognised in Luxembourg.”
The invitation-only industry presentation takes place on 12th October, with members of the delegation available for one-to-one meetings with Jersey Finance Industry representatives on 13th October.
