The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) announced last week that nominations are now open for the STEP Private Client Awards.
The awards are designed to highlight excellence amongst private client lawyers, attorneys, accountants, bankers, trustees, barristers, investment managers and others.
Andrew Young, Chair of the judging panel and partner at Lawrence Graham LLP, explained that:
"Ours is a strong and vigorous profession as evidenced by the expansion of the Awards to include new categories which better reflect the international nature of our market ."
There are several new categories for this year's awards. There is now a UK Contentious Trust and Estate Team of the Year, and awards for teams in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, North America, the Caribbean, Asia, and Switzerland.
Nominations close on May 31, 2007. The award categories are as follows:
UK Categories
- Accountancy Team of the Year
- Barrister of the Year
- Charity Team of the Year
- Contentious Trust and Estates Team of the Year
- London Legal Team of the Year
- UK Regional Legal Team of the Year
International Categories
- Independent Trust Company Team of the Year
- Institutional Trust Company Team of the Year
- Investment Team of the Year
- Private Banking Team of the Year
- Private Client Book of the Year
- Best Government Initiative of the Year
- Worst Government Initiative of the Year
Regional Categories (Legal and accountancy teams only)
- Asia Private Client Team of the Year
- Caribbean Private Client Team of the Year
- Channel Isles and Isle of Man Private Client Team of the Year
- North American Private Client Team of the Year
- Swiss Private Client Team of the Year
