STEP Announces Private Client Award Winners

Hundreds of leading private client lawyers, accountants, bankers, trustees and barristers gathered in London for the STEP Private Client Awards 2006 on Tuesday.

Chairman of the judging panel, Wilson Cotton, observed that:

"The awards highlight excellence amongst professionals advising and managing family wealth. The awards process was pretty tough. The judges found the winners had made a significant impact on the profession and the judges put an emphasis on organisations that make their dedication to clients paramount."

• Private Client Book of the Year – Butterworth’s Guide to US/UK Private Wealth Tax Planning (Totell) by Richard Layman, Lee Williams and Dawn Nicholson
• Best Government Initiative of the Year – Dubai Financial Services Authority
• UK Regional Legal Team of the Year – Mills & Reeve
• London Legal Team of the Year – Macfarlanes
• Outstanding Achievement Award – John Riches and Emma Chamberlain QC
