Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday signed a federal law ratifying the convention between the Russian government and the government of Spain on avoiding double taxation and preventing the evasion of the payment of tax on incomes and assets, the presidential press service reports. The law was passed by the State Duma [lower house of parliament] on 24th May, 2000 and endorsed by the Federation Council [upper house] on 7th June 2000.
The convention between the governments of the two countries on avoiding double taxation and preventing the evasion of the payment of tax on incomes and assets was signed on 16th December 1998 in Madrid.
