Officials from Russia and Bangladesh have announced that they are keen to sign a bilateral free trade agreement in order to boost trade.
The announcement came in the light of figures that revealed bilateral trade between the two countries amounts to around USD250m per year, a figure which could be significantly increased with the help of an FTA.
The FTA proposal was put forward by Russian Ambassador, Gennady Trotsenko, during a meeting of the two governments in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Bangladesh has responded positively to the proposal. A trade agreement would pave the way for increased Russian investment.
