UK law firm Richards Butler - which recently agreed to merge with Reed Smith - has poached several shipping law experts from rival firm Stephenson Harwood, it emerged last week.
Among the team which is set to join the Richards Butler by July of this year are shipping litigation partner Mark O'Neil, and marine manager Ron Clark.
This will leave Stephenson Harwood with eight shipping litigation partners and 20 fee-earners in London.
Speaking to the Legal Week news service with regard to the appointments, Richards Butler shipping partner Adam Morgan explained that:
"We are always looking at investing in our core areas and they are a very good fit with our existing practice."
