Reuters, the information services giant, and financial information service Multex announced this week the launch of a new website called www.multexinvestor.co.uk which they say makes professional investment information available to the private investor.
Multex markets equity analysts' reports from leading brokerages, giving detailed information and recommendations on shares. The new site, operated as a joint venture, is aimed at retail investors specifically in the UK and aims to provide in-depth broker research from dozens of top houses around the world. Reuters and Multex call multexinvestor.co.uk a site for "serious" investors who want to make smarter investment decisions.
Investors can access thousands of investment research reports from brokerage houses, investment banks and independent research providers worldwide, and the service is totally free of charge. The reports are written by analysts who regularly meet with the management of the companies they write about and they contain quantitative analysis that examines balance sheets, income statements and management discussions.
Reuters says it plans to roll out similar services in France and Germany "in due course", and says the new joint venture is part of an Internet strategy the information services giant announced earlier this year.
