According to reports, former CFSB star banker, Frank Quattrone has had his request for a new trial relating to charges that he obstructed an investigation into stock allocations denied.
Earlier this year, Mr Quattrone was found gulity of two charges of obstruction of justice and one of witness tampering.
The two-week retrial (following the declaration of a mistrial late last year) looked again at charges that the investment banker had attempted to hamper grand jury and regulatory investigations into the allocation of stocks in popular initial public offerings (IPOs) by forwarding and approving an e-mail advising CSFB staff to "clean up" their files.
His legal team argued at a hearing last Friday that US District Judge Richard Owen, who oversaw the case, had given misleading instructions to the jury which may have prejudiced them against Mr Quattrone. However, Judge Owen denied the motion.
Sentencing is set to take place on September 8.
