RMR plc, a UK-based Internet conference software company, has announced its collaboration with the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII) to produce an online investment conference for the US market. Entitled USInvestor2001, the conference date is set for May 7 to 18 inclusive.
In statements released by both parties, the event is described as a valuable investment education tool providing a wealth of information on all aspects of investment strategy, development processes and current issues facing the US investment community. The conference is open to AAII members (totalling around 170,000) and the general public. RMR says it has hosted numerous conferences in the UK and is now expanding into the US market via its new state-side subsidiary, RMR International, which will host the conference.
USInvestor2001 will be free of charge and comes complete with a conference centre and media centre. There is an exhibition hall which will host virtual stands with multimedia displays to showcase products and services. Each stand will inform the delegates about an exhibiting company with the facility to register an inquiry or link to the company's web site. There is also a Viewpoint 'building' giving interested investors the opportunity to interact with speakers and each other.
RMR will employ state of art technology to recreate the event with the look and feel of a traditional conference. Investors who sign up for the event will be authorised for full access to text, video and audio presentations from the industry's leading figures and companies. Information on a wide variety of currently relevant topics will also be available.
The AAII is an organisation specialising in providing education in the areas of stock investing, mutual funds, portfolio management and retirement planning. It describes itself as a 'not-for-profit' organization that arms investors with the knowledge and tools needed to manage their finances effectively and profitably.
After its run in May the conference web site will continue to be online for one year to serve as a forum discussion for online investing.
