Janet Paraskeva on Thursday completed her final day as Chief Executive of the UK Law Society.

Ms Paraskeva was Law Society Chief Executive for more than five years, and oversaw a programme of unprecedented reform.

She will succeed Baroness Usha Prashar as the First Civil Service Commissioner, and according to reports will also occupy non-executive roles at the Serious Organised Crime Agency and the Consumer Council for Water.

New Chief Executive, Desmond Hudson assumes the role with immediate effect.
