A report from the English Peoples Daily has confirmed that government officials from Panama and China have signed an agreement to promote economic cooperation, strengthen their commercial ties and establish an information exchange forum between the two countries.
It is expected that the accord will also boost the exchange of visits between entrepreneurs and traders from Panama and China. In 2000, China's trade with Panama was valued at around US$1.2 billion with China's exports up 33 per cent from the previous year.
