Michael Misick was sworn in as Turks & Caicos's new Chief Minister last Friday following the resignation of Derek Taylor earlier this month after the ruling People's Democratic Movement lost its majority in by-elections on August 7.
Amongst the cabinet, Misick has named Mr Floyd Basil Hall as the new Deputy Chief Minister with Jeffery Christoval Hall, Lillian Elkaine Robinson-Been, Karen Lorene Delancy and McAllister Hanchall due to take up other ministerial posts.
Misick's Progressive National Party managed to obtain power by winning two by-elections earlier in the month which gave it eight seats in the 13 seat Legislative-Council. The People's Democratic Movement, which has governed for the last eight years holds the remaining five seats.
Mr Misick, 37, was born and raised in North Caicos, and obtained a law degree from the University of Buckingham. He was first elected to the Legislative Council in 1991 and elected Leader Designate of the PNP in 2002.
