Guernsey law firm Ozannes announced on Wednesday that it will be opening a legal practice in Jersey, and will be the first Guernsey law firm to do so.
The office, which will open in the autumn, will be headed by new partner and Jersey Advocate, Marcus Stone, who brings to the practice extensive experience in commercial work.
The new Ozannes office, which will practice Jersey law, will initially concentrate on advising on the establishment of investment funds, securitisation structures, corporate banking, structured finance transactions, trusts and other areas of corporate and commercial work. The firm expects, in due course, to offer litigation services.
Senior Partner, Roger Perrot, commented:
“We are delighted to announce our plans for opening in Jersey – at last. This is something which we have been looking at for quite some time, but which we wanted to get right. Getting it right means ensuring that we create in Jersey a service which faithfully reflects our standards and gives us an opportunity for early, substantial, growth so as to be able to offer a full corporate service to existing and prospective clients."
"Our core business is advising on international finance and investment transactions. In Jersey, as in Guernsey, we will provide a one-stop shop to clients, drawing upon the relevant expertise in both Islands."
