Gibraltar appears to be an increasingly popular choice again for online gambling firms after local press reports revealed three more firms have been advertising for vacancies in the jurisdiction in recent weeks - an indication that the industry may be on the rise.
The latest firm to be found recruiting in the Rock is Set2go, which is licensed in Gibraltar but also has an operation in the UK. Set2Go acquired the Gibraltar operation after buying the Demmy group of companies, an established British bookmaker with a 75 year history in the industry, and Set2Go is operated by the original management team.
Set2Go explained that the main advantage of establishing an operation in Gibraltar is its well regulated licencing system. “As Gibraltar has only issued a small number of licenses, following extremely detailed due-diligence on the company and its Directors you can rest assured there is no safer place to operate an online gaming company,” the company states on its website.
