Following the recent announcement of its high ranking in the annual Chambers Global guide to the international legal community, it emerged last week that offshore law firm Ogier has secured another success.
The firm, which has offices in Jersey, Cayman, Guernsey and London and a trust company in New Zealand, revealed last week that it had been named the first winner of the 'Offshore Advisor of the Year' at the High Nets Awards at the Savoy Hotel in London.
Ogier was also short-listed for 'Offshore Advisor of the Year' alongside Guernsey law firm Ozannes, Cayman Islands law firm Walkers and three other Caribbean firms.
The High Nets are aimed at the private client market and were promoted by In Brief, a monthly publication aimed at the top 100 law firms in the UK and top ten law firms around the world. In Brief requested nominations from its readers in 15 categories and the nominees were whittled down to a short list for each category.
Collecting the award, Steve Meiklejohn, partner and head of the Trust and Estate Planning Group and Private Client Team at Ogier, announced that: "It is very rewarding to receive this recognition from our clients for our expertise in the private client field."
