Offshore law firm, Ogier last week received an award for the Private Client Team of the Year from the Legal Business magazine.
At the award ceremony, hosted in London, it emerged that Ogier was the only offshore firm to be nominated, and that furthermore, having scooped the award, it became the first offshore law firm to do so.
Two key elements behind Ogier's nomination, according to reports, were the firm's role in the Esteem case, and its recent merger with Cayman-based Boxalls.
Speaking following the award ceremony, head of the Private Client Team, Steve Meiklejohn announced that:
"We are absolutely delighted with this recognition which comes at a very exciting time for the firm. It not only raises our profile but also that of offshore firms in general."
