Offshore law firm, Ogier revealed this week that it has received its second award of 2004, having been named Offshore Law Firm of the Year at the recently held Chambers Awards.
The Chambers Awards are given out based on votes from the users of international legal services. Observers have suggested that the firm's involvement in the landmark Esteem case, which had far-reaching consequences for Jersey trusts, coupled with recognition of its recent merger with Cayman-based law firm, Boxalls were both factors which influenced the voting.
Speaking with regard to the award, Ogier chairman, Jonathon White announced that:
"It is a tremendous accolade for Ogier to win this award, particularly as the Chambers award is based on independent research with clients. We are also delighted that offshore expertise is becoming increasingly prominent on the global legal map."
