It emerged last week that corporate and commercial lawyers at international offshore law firm Ogier have achieved top rankings in Chambers Global, the annual guide to the world's lawyers.
In order to compile the guide, Chambers investigates firms and lawyers in more than 170 countries through an extensive interview process in all the main areas of commercial law.
The Chambers figures show that Ogier is ranked in the top tier in Jersey and Guernsey and in the second tier in Cayman, on the recommendation of its financial services clients, who reportedly dubbed the Jersey firm "fast-moving and expanding", "technically strong, bright and commercial", and "first rate in terms of knowledge and availability".
Its Guernsey and Cayman operations also drew praise from customers, and the Chambers guide states that the group's areas of advisory expertise include investment funds, special purpose vehicles, banking, finance and real estate.
Commenting on the rankings received by the firm, Ogier Partner Steve Meiklejohn announced that:
"It is very rewarding to read such strong endorsements from our clients in three of the world's leading international finance centres. Our merger with Cayman firm Boxalls late last year has considerably added to our strength in depth as well as global recognition and status. This will continue to be evidenced as further benefits of integration become apparent."
