It emerged this month that Ogier has launched an operation in Dublin, increasing the number of jurisdictions in which the law firm operates to six.
The move will see Ogier’s capital markets team providing administration services to institutional clients through Ogier Fiduciary Services (Ireland) Limited.
In a statement, the firm announced that:
"Ireland is a popular jurisdiction for establishing capital markets structures such as Commercial Paper Conduits and Structured Investment Vehicles (SIVs). It is attractive to corporate clients, such as German banks and major European Financial Institutions because it is both tax efficient and part of the EEC."
Ogier partner Paul Willing, Chief Operating Officer of Ogier Fiduciary Services further explained that:
“We have been running a number of Irish vehicles for clients and this development is really in response to an increasing number of client requests for Irish resident structures. Ireland is certainly a hot jurisdiction for capital markets work at present.”
