Offshore law firm, Ogier on Monday announced the appointment of Nick Gamble as a partner at its Guernsey operation.
Mr Gamble joins the firm from the finance department of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London, where he was a partner for more than 7 years, having previously worked at Allen & Overy and Nomura.
According to Ogier, the new Guernsey partner, born and educated on the Island, will be returning to Guernsey with a view to taking up his new role in the firm’s Business Trust and Law Group later this year.
He also intends to re-qualify in the island, and on being admitted to the local Bar, will become a partner of the Ogier Guernsey legal practice.
Commenting on the appointment, Ogier Group Chairman, Jonathan White announced that:
“We are absolutely delighted that Nick has chosen to join Ogier. He has a first class reputation and tremendous experience. He will make a substantial contribution to the continued growth of our Guernsey office, and across the Group.”
Mr Gamble added:
“I am very much looking forward to this move. Ogier have clearly established themselves as one of the very few genuinely global offshore law firms and they have a well deserved reputation for excellence in their chosen markets. The firm’s Guernsey office in particular has witnessed dramatic growth and is clearly going from strength to strength. I look forward to helping build upon the work that has already been done and playing my part in the firm’s continued success”.
Ogier has a presence in nine jurisdictions around the world, namely the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Ireland, Jersey, London, Montevideo and New Zealand.
The firm first opened its Guernsey office in 1998.
