New US Remote Gambling Patent Circumvents Wire Act

28 February 2003

Kenilworth Systems Corp announced that the patent for a new technology which permits remote gambling via a TV live-feed direct link to casinos has been approved by the US Patent and Trademark Offices.

According to a report from Online Casino News this week, the newly approved 'System and Method for Remote Roulette and Other Game Play Using Game Table At a Casino' will allow live casino gambling to be transmitted to customers based anywhere in the world, legal and gambling regulatory set-up permitting.

Fortunately, given the current climate with regard to online gambling in the United States, Kenilworth Systems' newly patented process circumvents legislation currently in place, for example the Wire Act. According to Online Casino News, the company has already proposed that players utilising the technology should be permitted to open pre-paid accounts at lottery terminals, using cash only.

This, it is hoped, will keep the new technology in full compliance with the Federal Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.
