Newly appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Intellectual Property & Quality and Lords Minister for the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills, Baroness Morgan of Drefelin has praised the drive and professionalism of the UK Intellectual Property Office, after her first visit to the Newport Office on Thursday 14th February.
The Minister visited the UK Intellectual Property Office, which is part of the Department for Innovation Universities and Skills (DIUS), to get a fuller understanding of Intellectual Property Rights, how the office works and to meet the teams.
She stated that:
"I am pleased to have been given the opportunity to meet the teams at the UK Intellectual Property Office and have been impressed with their dynamism and commitment. It is more vital than it has ever been that UK businesses should have an intellectual property system that is as well designed and smoothly operating as it possibly can be.”.
Baroness Morgan was previously Government Spokesperson for Communities and Local Government, for Scotland, for Wales and for Work and Pensions.
