It emerged ealier this week that the UK's antitrust regulator has appointed a new head of competition enforcement.
Vincent Smith will take over the position as the Office of Fair Trading's new director of competition enforcement when the current incumbent, Margaret Bloom retires at the end of July. Mr Smith has extensive private and public sector experience in the area of competition law, and served for 18 months as Ms Bloom's deputy in the enforcement division.
Speaking following the announcement of his appointment, he revealed that his main priority in his new role will be to develop ways of keeping the legal and business communities better informed of developments in competition rules.
