The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has gone live with its business-to-business online marketplace, a web-based trading portal which presently connects more than 200,000 companies worldwide.
Director General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Hamad Buamim, announced the initiative at a recent press conference saying the portal was "one more step in establishing Dubai as the gateway and information hub of global trade."
At the opening of the online trading portal Buamim said:
“Creating a favourable investment environment was a key objective – the new portal will play an important role in the future of trade and commerce in the city. Dubaibizmatch.com will significantly enhance both import and export links between Dubai and the worldwide business community.”
The platform, designed by Tejari, allows investors to view goods and services within a virtual showroom and provides in-depth market research reports. Two ‘packages’ are available for investors: one geared towards meeting the needs of buyers named the Trade Direct Program; and another called the Export Promotion Program.
Chief Executive of Operations at Tejari, pleased with how quickly the project has been adopted, said:
“The number of businesses opening in the emerging market is growing exponentially, with a variety of different industries and sectors booming in both performance and size. In the bleak situation seen in the last months this could be a haven for traders to come and find opportunities."
