Strategic Financial Solutions, LLC, creator of asset allocation and investment analysis software PerTrac™ 2000, and HedgeFund.net, a prominent Internet source for hedge fund performance data and news, have announced the launch of PerTrac™ Online, a new tool that 'helps investors navigate the vast universe of hedge funds'.
It's claimed that more than 850 institutions in 30 different countries currently use PerTrac’s desktop software for database management, statistical analysis and portfolio construction. The on-line version combines the desktop tools with some new innovations, creating a web-based platform designed to revolutionize the way investors identify and evaluate hedge funds. The HedgeFund.net-PerTrac Universes provide a three-dimensional view of the indices. Detailed percentile rankings are calculated every day for each of 35 different style categories. The results are presented in easy-to-use tables and graphs. Armed with this expanded level of detail, it is now possible for investors to precisely measure a fund’s performance relative to the entire spectrum of its peer group.
Among many other features, HedgeFund.net-PerTrac Universes also provide a Monthly
Flash Estimate. Day by day, as the managers' results are collected, PerTrac
Online displays the results and constantly re-calculates the universes’
statistics. This allows a preview of the most recent performance information
as it occurs.
Allowing for the fact that not all hedge funds choose to report their performance to the commercial databases such as HedgeFund.net, PerTrac Online also allows the user to quickly set up secure, private records for which the whole of the system's analytical capabilities are available.
