It emerged this week that a new legal professional services organization has been established in Jersey.
Comprising Jersey law firm, Baker Associates, and compliance consultancy, Finance Sector Compliance Advisers, the BakerPlatt Group will specialize in providing advice on regulatory, compliance, financial crime, and international cooperation matters.
In a statement released on Monday, advocate and joint founder of the BakerPlatt Group, Stephen Baker explained that he and his partner (barrister and compliance expert, Stephen Platt) have "created a uniquely well placed niche professional services organization which is able to support businesses and regulatory and investigating authorities internationally".
BakerPlatt has also become a member of 'The Seven Bedford Row Alliance', a London-based group of lawyers specializing in financial crime and anti-money laundering legislation. This move, according to the Group, will enable it "to select teams of experts to meet the specific needs of clients".
