The Malta Financial Services Centre has granted GasanMamo, one of Malta's leading insurance agencies, a licence to offer investment services and as a result it has joined forces with UK-based Edinburgh Fund Managers to provide Malta-based investors with more investment opportunities. GasanMamo Financial Services chairman, Joseph Gasan, told the Malta press this week: 'Having its roots firmly embedded in the insurance industry, GasanMamo has now paved the way to provide quality investment products for investors in Malta.'
Mr Gasan said the first product his company intends to offer is the Edinburgh Managed Growth Portfolio, an actively managed unit trust with multi-fund investment. He explained: 'The recent past has seen a changing financial services market with the Maltese public becoming more and more discerning. We are committed to maximising our experience, international contacts and expertise, our main assets, to provide our clients with a reliable and effective service.'
The Edinburgh Managed Growth Portfolio, which was launched in 1997, now has a fund of around £120 million and achieves long term growth by investing in a portfolio of investments in Regulated Collective Investment Schemes. Edinburgh Fund Managers is a sole provider of investment management and manages £8.5 billion of its clients' money worldwide.
