The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in Pakistan on Thursday unveiled a new set of income tax return forms for companies, individuals, and associations of persons (AOPs) for the 2008 tax year.
According to reports in the national media, initial drafts of the new forms were first unveiled two weeks ago.
The final return form has reportedly been compiled taking into account the viewpoint of all interested parties.
The FBR was keen to point out that taxpayers have a period of one month to adjust to the new forms, which are already available on its website.
Also on the topic of tax filing, earlier in the week, the FBR revealed that there had been an excellent response from the country's business community to the new method of mandatory electronic filing of Sales Tax Returns.
The Board revealed that around 44,309 taxpayers had electronically enrolled at the FBR Portal, and 32,296 taxpayers had filed their Sales Tax Returns electronically from their offices/homes using the Internet.
