It was announced on Monday that the German Emirates Services opened a new business centre in the offshore financial centre of Dubai to assist German SMEs hoping to establish operations in the jurisdiction.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Jurgen Friedrich, a delegate from the Federation of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce praised the move as enhancing Dubai's viability as a regional financial hub: 'The business centre will be the platform for many German companies to successfully set up and expand businesses in this great market,' he said.
The United Arab Emirates is the second largest trading partner for Germany in the Gulf region, and Mr Friedrich revealed that over the past year, the jurisdiction had seen more German products and services than those from much larger economies in the region.
