Ministers from the government of Grenada held talks with three top officials from global investment bank Morgan Stanley last week, with investment and finance high on the agenda, Caribbean Net News reports.

The discussions, which involved Prime Minister Keith Mitchell, Minister of Communications and Public Works, Gregory Bowen and Minister of Finance Anthony Botswain, focused upon the raising of investment to build Grenada’s economic infrastructure. The talks also touched upon the refinancing of the jurisdiction’s loans, with the government keen to show that it takes the debt issue seriously.

"It is very healthy to see investors coming into Grenada to take us up on our words to reduce the heavy burden with respect to interest and to extend the financial resources available to us for infrastructural and social development," observed Mr Bowen.

Representing Morgan Stanley were Executive Director Thomas Haskins, Vice President Brandon Goffinet and Analyst Laura Tribuno.
